Teachers
Hey, junkies the Mad King here in Daytona Beach. So I heard you talking about kids in reading the other day. I picked up a woman. She is a sixth grade school teacher here in Daytona Beach. She told me that 60% of her class cannot read or write, but they know if Little Billy comes to school tomorrow and address and wants to be called Bobby Sue, that that's perfectly. Okay. Wiggle wiggle, pop pop.

Kids can’t read
Hello news, junkies. I just wanted to chime in about the kids not being able to read these days and I've noticed a huge influx at this school where my children, go to school that parents have just pulled their kids out since Co altogether and their homeschooling them now, So I wonder if that has something to do with it. That people are pulling their kids out of school to do home school. And then they're not following through with really homeschooling their children.

Thank you to the nurses and doctors for bringing my boy into this world today safe and secure
I just want to give a shout out to everybody at the Oviedo Medical Center. Um, they brought my Child into the world today. Um, at 11:25 a.m. right as the News Junkie went on. So, uh, I haven't been able to catch up till just now and uh, I just want to say thank you to everybody. Nurses and doctors and everybody out there, and I want to celebrate the birth of the newest employee of Miranda Industries. And I hope all of you have a wonderful day. And God bless you all, wiggle, wiggle, pop pop.

Setting the record straight on eggs and backyard chickens
Hi News, Junkie just real quick. Um, setting the record straight on eggs. Um, the white eggs you get from the grocery store actually from White chickens, the white Leg Horn. Um, they lay a ton of eggs. We have a white Leg Horn. We have 7 chickens, she probably lays 5 eggs a week, which is a lot. And also, chickens, backyard chickens can be very affordable. Honestly we did not spend a ton of money getting our setup. Coups are easily built from it's probably some stuff you have laying around your house. Um we feed them scraps obviously not poultry um and we don't do fish either just because they can leave a weird flavor with the eggs but yeah, maybe 15 bucks a month in actual chicken feed. Okay, thanks. Bye.

Under the sea. Under the Sea. Take it from me. Life is better with your head in the fishy.

Taxes and such
Hey, junkies. Um, Sean. I was listening to like the tax conversation and yesterday's episode and uh yeah. You know, the rich pay their taxes, whatever. Uh, my biggest thing is like the corporate taxes. So you look at these companies like, Walmart McDonald's. Other ones that are at the top of these lists of the highest number of people on welfare, then you take all the tax breaks, they get for a quote unquote creating jobs, but most of the jobs they create are, you know, part-time so they don't have to pay benefits. And in some places, pay the 725 national minimum wage, uh, I just don't understand how that is able to continue. Um, to me, that's 1 of the biggest ways that we could snap up a bunch of tax revenue. On top of setting up a metrics for churches, if they're not meeting level of service based on these metrics, then those churches need to be taxed too because part of their tax breaks, come from the idea, That they're helping the community and they're doing better. I feel that if you did corporate and church taxes that that would actually snap up a lot of money that were missing out on and could bring relief to the middle and lower classes. Anyways, that's just my 2 cents, have a great day.

Finance director at a non profit
Hi junkies, I'm a finance director, for a nonprofit in New Hampshire and we were awarded 2.136 million dollars uh from HUD last month. So obviously, with the grants yesterday, it was a huge deal uh which was luck.

Prices are uuuuup!
I think a good way of checking prices is maybe coffee. Because we import most of it or probably all of it. And when I started buying the kind, I use it was like 6.99 a can and it is up to 1499 a can in 4 years. So yeah.
